Turtle Traffic lies in the Derawan Archipelago off the northeast coast of Kalimantan, in the Celebes Sea, reached by boat from operators based on Derawan Island along with trips out to Maratua, Sangalaki, and Kakaban. The site tops out at around 15 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making it an easy option among the archipelago's more demanding drift and wall sites.
