About this site
Twin Reef sits in the Sipadan-Kapalai area off the coast of Sabah on the island of Borneo, in waters known for steep drop-offs surrounding the small island of Sipadan and the sandy flats near Kapalai. This part of the Celebes Sea is reached by boat from the mainland jetty towns of Semporna, with dive operators running day trips out to the reefs scattered between Sipadan, Kapalai, and Mabul. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres, and divers have reported frogfish, grouper, and snapper here.
