About this site
Ushiro no Hama (後の浜) is one of the main reef dives at Kashiwajima in Otsuki, Kochi, on the north side of the island, where coral spreads along 500 to 600 m of shoreline in a band 60 to 130 m wide. At 5 to 12 m deep it suits a slow dive over overlapping table corals with schools of anthias, blue damselfish and sergeant majors. There are four sections: the whip coral stand, the anthias reef, the area below the lighthouse, where several harlequin shrimp have been found, and the artificial fish reef.
