Ishigaki is part of the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, at the southwestern end of Japan's island chain, and its surrounding waters are known for reef diving off the island's coasts. W-Arch sits among the dive sites reached by boat from Ishigaki's harbors, along the fringing reef structures typical of this part of the Yaeyama archipelago.
