About this site
The 235 foot long wooden steamer Walter L. Frost was lost November 4, 1903 when she ran aground on South Manitou Island. She is now broken up, largely because the Francisco Morazan ran aground on top of her. The Frost, being in shallow water of about 12 feet offers explorers an ideal view of her remaining hull, boilers and related artifacts. Lies in about 3.7 m; sank 1903.
