West End

West End is the village and diving hub at the western tip of Utila, one of the Bay Islands off the Caribbean coast of Honduras. The area sits along a coral shelf that drops toward a wall system running along this side of the island, with dive shops and boats operating directly out of West End itself. Utila is best known in the region for whale shark encounters and for being a low-cost hub for diver training. The West End wall itself reaches a maximum depth of around 27.4 metres, is rated an advanced dive, and typically sees light current. Eagle rays and wrasse are regularly seen along the wall, and divers have also reported glassfish, grouper, hammerhead sharks, jacks, lobster, and octopus in the area.
