About this site
This new steamer ran onto Sawtooth Reef on only her 5th trip since her launch. Not badly damaged at first, over the next days waves drove her farther onto the rocks until she broke in the middle. The initial salvage failed, but a year later 278 ft of her stern was recovered by Reid Wrecking of Sarnia, and was rebuilt as part of the steamer Sir Trevor Dawson. The remaining bow sections washed off the reef into deeper water, now crushed flat at 40 ft. Lies in about 12.2 m; sank 1910.
