About this site
Xiaoping Dao (小平岛) is a 10-minute boat ride out of Xiaoping Island harbour on the south coast of Dalian, with a maximum depth of 25 m. The water is usually calm with occasional light current; a steep drop starts after 5 m and runs down onto mud and sand. Sea cucumber, abalone, fish, shrimp and crab and many flounder make it a favourite for newer divers and spearfishers, with the best visibility in autumn and winter.
