About this site
Yuan Dao (圆岛) is a lone rock island about 32 nautical miles south-east of Dalian, two hours by boat from Laohutan. The dive drops down a wall of large boulders from 5 m to coarse sand at 37 m and continues to 48 m, with 20 m+ visibility; summer water is 18–25 °C above the 20 m thermocline and 12–16 °C below it. Croaker, rockfish, porgy, amberjack and cod, with sea cucumber, abalone and scallops on the rock; Advanced level.
