About this site
Yukei (夕景) is a shore-entry site on Miyakejima in the Izu Islands, Tokyo, on the beach next to Gakko Shita, with an easy entry over gravel and sand and an underwater hot spring welling up in the shallows. Large boulders on sand form a canyon, plump sergeant majors gather in numbers, and the fish life on the ridge-like reef is dense. Sea turtles are common, along with bannerfish, stripey, longnose butterflyfish, butterflyfish, bigfin reef squid and stingrays.
