Zenobia

The Zenobia was a Swedish-built roll-on roll-off ferry that sank in 1980 just off Larnaca on the south coast of Cyprus, reportedly due to a ballast computer malfunction on her maiden voyage. She lies on her port side in open water a short distance from the harbour, with her cargo of trucks and lorries still visible inside the holds. The wreck is around 170 metres long, reaches a maximum depth of about 42 metres, and is rated a technical dive, with visibility generally described as great. It is widely regarded as one of the top wreck dives in the Mediterranean, drawing divers specifically for its scale and penetration opportunities. Barracuda, grouper, moray eels, and octopus are common around the hull, and divers have also reported jacks or amberjack, lionfish, nudibranchs, sea turtles, stingrays, and triggerfish on the wreck.
