Sasso che Bara (also called Scoglio che Bara) is a cone-shaped sandbank located just off the promontory of Capo Stella, on the Island of Elba. The formation drops quickly to a sandy bottom at 35 metres depth, with the tip of the cone sitting at approximately 15 metres.
The dive profile follows the shape of the site: descend to the bottom where the wreck of a small wooden motorboat rests on the sand, then spiral upward around the cone-shaped bank, rising gradually to the tip at around 15 metres. The tip is covered in parazoanthus.
Night diving here is particularly recommended, with the site noted as especially rewarding after dark.
