Plavnik is a small island in the Kvarner Gulf, off the coast of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia, lying between the islands of Krk and Cres. The lighthouse marks a point along its shoreline and serves as a landmark for boats navigating this stretch of the northern Adriatic. The dive site beneath it has drawn reports of Mediterranean damselfish, rainbow wrasse, and painted comber moving among the rocks, along with purple sea urchins, leopard sea slugs, and both red and white sea stars on the bottom.
