Ray Point sits off Mabul Island, a small island near Semporna in Sabah, on Borneo's east coast in the Celebes Sea. Mabul lies close to Sipadan and is a common base for dive operators working this stretch of Malaysian Borneo. Divers here have reported a range of macro life typical of muck diving in the area, including several nudibranch species such as Alcala's Chromodoris, Anna's Chromodoris, Coi's Goniobranchus, Willan's Chromodoris, and the Blue Dragon, along with Dusky Nembrotha, Crocodile Flathead, Pacific Trumpetfish, and Bluespotted Fantail Ray.
