Teluk Maya is a dive site on the northern side of Lintea Island in the Wakatobi, and its name means beautiful bay. Shallow coral formations reach down to 12 metres beside a sandy bay on a gentle slope, and at 24 metres a coral garden leads into an overhang deeper down. It is rated a beginner dive with a depth range of 0 to 60 metres.
It is unusual in the area in giving divers a sand bottom to drop onto, and swimming the sand towards patches of coral turns up unusual animals. A large school of resident batfish carries isopods, cuttlefish mate and lay eggs, and ghost pipefish, razor and rockmover wrasses, the odd pegasus seamoth, frogfish and the newly discovered pygmy pipehorse are all to be found in the top 20 metres.
