About this site
ABC House Reef is a shallow coastal reef located directly in front of the dive centre at Kampung Air Batang (ABC) on Pulau Tioman, Malaysia. The site runs from 3 m to a maximum of 25 m and includes an adjacent section known as Ghost Town, an artificial reef where concrete blocks were placed on the bottom to encourage coral growth, creating the impression of a submerged skyline.
The reef is accessible as a shore dive from the beach in front of the village, making entry and exit straightforward. Its shallow profile and calm character suit beginner divers, and the site can be dived year-round.
Marine life recorded at the site includes moray eels, giant groupers, great barracudas, frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, mimic octopus, and cuttlefish. Divers should be aware that plastic debris is present as a known hazard on the site.
