Gamul Soraya, also known as Gamul Al Saghair, is a shallow reef dive site in the Safaga area of the Egyptian Red Sea, reaching a maximum depth of around 15–16 metres. The site is characterised by a reef garden structure, and the most rewarding section lies to the south, where a series of pinnacles draped in soft corals form the main highlight. The route out to the nearest and largest pinnacle passes over the sandy seabed at around 14 metres depth, where garden eels sway in the current.
The pinnacles themselves host dense schools of butterflyfish, goatfish, and groupers, while the sandy bottom around them holds a surprisingly high number of scorpionfish. Batfish are a regular presence and are noted as willing subjects for photographers. Lionfish and coral groupers patrol the cracks between the coral structures, which are packed with glassfish.
The site is rated for Open Water level, making it suitable for beginner divers, and the shallow, reef-garden character keeps it accessible regardless of experience.
