Tobia Soraya is a reef dive site located in the bay of Safaga, in the Egyptian Red Sea, approximately 30 minutes south of the local dive base. The reef is made up of a chain of connected ergs — coral pillars and massive formations — that come together to form a Y-shaped structure. The two south-eastern blocks are considered the best section of the site: one features a narrow canyon at 11 metres and a tunnel at 9 metres lined with soft corals.
The maximum depth reaches around 17–18 metres, with the sandy bottom between ergs lying at roughly 12–15 metres. The terrain combines sloping coral walls, sandy roads between the formations, and the canyon and tunnel structure in the south-eastern blocks. Cleaning stations are found throughout the site.
On and around the sandy bottom, divers encounter stingrays, crocodilefish, and scorpionfish, while clownfish and anemones are present alongside butterflyfish and pufferfish. Schools of bannerfish gather around the ergs, and looking out into open water gives a chance of spotting larger passing species including dolphins.
Tobia Soraya is a boat dive, typically done from a moored position, and is accessible to all certification levels due to its modest depth and usually light current. The site suits beginners and experienced divers alike.
