Hin Wong Pinnacle is a large rock pinnacle dive site located on the east side of Koh Tao, descending from 10 m to 30 m. The terrain is dramatic and varied, with bold topography that sets it apart from other sites around the island. The structure is draped in lacy sea fans and curly whip corals, with notable bright blue soft corals at 26 m.
The site holds an impressive range of marine life across its depth range. Resident species include filefish, shrimpfish, coral grouper, fusiliers, barracuda, trevally, colourful reef fish, and a green turtle that stays relaxed as long as divers keep their distance. Macro photographers will find nudibranchs and other brightly coloured invertebrates throughout the site, and turtles are also regularly reported among the boulders alongside snappers and groupers.
Hin Wong Pinnacle carries strong currents and is rated intermediate to advanced, with a maximum depth of 30 m. On good days the site is known for excellent visibility. Water temperature ranges from 27–30°C, and the best seasons to dive are March to May and September to October.
