About this site

Samantha's lies in the Florida Keys near Key West, around coordinates 24.65N, 81.03W, in an area of shallow reef and patch reef typical of that stretch of water. Despite being listed as a wall site, it sits in shallow water with a maximum depth of about 5.5 metres, making it a beginner dive. Angelfish and parrotfish are a regular sight on the reef here, and divers have also reported grouper, octopus, pufferfish, and even manta rays passing through. A range of smaller reef fish have been noted as well, including blue tang, bicolor damselfish, bluehead and yellowhead wrasse, clown wrasse, slippery dick, white grunt, and additional parrotfish varieties such as redband and striped parrotfish.
