Turtle Island is a dive site in the north of Phu Quoc, Vietnam, located approximately 7 km from the Cambodian border. The reef runs from just below the surface to around 12 m depth, making it one of the shallowest and most accessible sites in the area. At 7 to 10 m depth, a group of large rocks forms a series of natural canyons that give the topography real variety, while shallower sections hold beautiful hard coral formations alongside a large anemone colony with pink anemone fish. Diving is possible all the way around the island.
The site suits divers with less experience, as well as snorkellers and those wanting a relaxed dive, with a maximum depth of around 9 to 10.5 m and light currents. The site is calm and well protected during the hot season, which runs from October to May, when winds blow from east to west and conditions on the west side of the islands are at their best. Water temperature sits between 28 and 31°C, and visibility is typically around 10 m.
Marine life at Turtle Island includes a wide variety of tropical fish, large shoals of fusiliers and damselfish, hard coral reefs, nudibranchs, and small reef fish. The anemone colony at shallower depth is a consistent highlight, with pink anemone fish living among the anemones.
