Hoki Maru is a deep wreck in Truk Lagoon. She was originally a New Zealand freighter, captured and repurposed by the Japanese. She rests at 46 to 61 metres (150 to 200 feet), which makes it a technical dive.
Cargo. She was carrying a large cargo of construction equipment when she was sunk, and it is still visible. The holds are filled with bulldozers, trucks and other heavy equipment, much of it still in good condition. The items are encrusted with marine growth.
Structure. The engine room is accessible to those with the necessary skills. The deck and superstructure are covered in soft corals and sponges.
Sharks and rays are often seen patrolling the wreck, and the intact structure also shelters smaller reef fish and macro life.
