Community Standards

Last Updated: July 3, 2026

DiveConnect is a community of divers, dive centers, and ocean lovers. These Community Standards set the rules for how you may use our profiles, reviews, messaging, clubs, events, and other social features. They apply to everyone and form part of our Terms of Service. Breaking them can lead to content removal, warnings, suspension, or account termination.

1. Be Truthful & Authentic

  • Use your real identity and accurate information. Do not impersonate others or run fake accounts.
  • Do not misrepresent your certifications, credentials, or affiliation with a dive center or training agency.
  • Reviews must reflect genuine, first-hand experiences. Do not post fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews.

2. Reviews & User Content

You are responsible for the content you post. When you post reviews, photos, comments, listings, or messages, you agree that your content:

  • is your own or properly licensed, and does not infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • is honest, relevant, and not deliberately misleading;
  • does not contain other people's private or personal information without their consent;
  • does not contain spam, advertising, or attempts to move transactions off-Platform to avoid fees.

Copyright complaints are handled under our DMCA / Copyright Policy.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Platform to post, send, or do any of the following:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
  • Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes or endangers minors.
  • Violent, graphic, or gratuitously disturbing content, or content that promotes self-harm.
  • Illegal activity, including trafficking in protected marine species, poaching, or damaging protected reefs and dive sites.
  • Unsafe diving advice presented as professional instruction, or encouragement of clearly reckless diving practices.
  • Fraud, scams, phishing, or misrepresenting prices, availability, or bookings.
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited messages, malware, or attempts to hack, scrape, or disrupt the Platform.
  • Posting another person's private information ("doxxing") or intimate images without consent.

4. Respect Diver Safety

DiveConnect is a neutral platform and does not provide diving instruction or safety supervision. Content on the Platform — including community posts and AI-assisted tools — is not a substitute for training from a certified professional, a dive briefing, or medical advice. Always follow the safety guidance of the certified Dive Provider running your dive.

5. Reporting Violations

If you see content or behavior that breaks these Standards, please report it using the in-app report tools where available, or email admin@diveconnect.io with a link and a short description. Reports involving imminent danger to a person should also be directed to local emergency services.

6. Enforcement

We review reports and may, at our discretion and depending on severity and history, remove content, issue a warning, limit features, suspend, or permanently terminate an account. Serious violations — such as content endangering minors, credible threats, or illegal activity — may be actioned immediately and reported to the authorities.

7. Appeals

If you believe we removed content or actioned your account in error, you may appeal by emailing admin@diveconnect.io within 30 days. Include your account details and why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

8. Changes

We may update these Community Standards from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last Updated" date above.
