Safety Guidelines

Diving is safe when everyone dives within their limits and treats the ocean and each other with respect. These guidelines apply to every diver and provider on Dive Connect.

For divers

  • Dive within your certification and experience. Book dives matched to your level, and don't exceed the depths or conditions you're trained for.
  • Be honest about your health. Complete any medical questionnaire truthfully; if in doubt, get a dive-medical clearance before you travel.
  • Never dive alone, and always follow your guide's briefing, the buddy system, and agreed depth/time limits.
  • Check your own gear before every dive, and don't dive if you feel unwell, cold, or unsure.
  • Respect no-fly and surface intervals. Plan your last dive well before any flight.
  • Protect the reef: maintain good buoyancy, take nothing, touch nothing, and follow local marine-park rules.

Booking safely on Dive Connect

  • Look for the Verified badge. Verified shops and instructors have completed identity/business checks. Read recent reviews before booking.
  • You pay a deposit to Dive Connect; the balance is paid to the shop — on their own gateway or on arrival. Dive Connect never asks for the full balance up front, and we'll never ask you to pay off-platform to skip a deposit.
  • Keep communication on-platform where you can, so there's a record if something goes wrong.
  • Review the cancellation & refund policy shown at checkout before you pay. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

For providers

  • Follow the standards of your certifying agency and all local regulations and permits.
  • Brief every diver, check certifications, and turn a dive around when conditions or a diver's readiness call for it — no trip is worth an unsafe dive.
  • Carry appropriate insurance, oxygen, and a first-aid/emergency plan for every site you run.
  • Represent your trips accurately: depths, difficulty, inclusions, and what divers need to bring.

In an emergency

For a diving accident, contact local emergency services and your regional diver emergency hotline (e.g. DAN) immediately — do not wait. Dive Connect is a booking platform and cannot provide emergency or medical assistance.

Reporting a concern

If a listing, provider, or message looks unsafe, misleading, or inappropriate, please tell us. Use the report control where available, or reach us via the contact page. Serious safety concerns are reviewed promptly.
