Red Buoy is a reef dive in Grenada, named for the red buoy marking the outside of the deep water harbour entrance. The dive profile runs from 7 m to 25 m (22 to 85 ft), and the site is used for more experienced or adventurous divers.
The top of the reef starts on a shallow plateau at about 8 m (25 ft), with a channel drop off to the north. A range of reef habitat is spread over the area.
Artefacts. Historical items lie here, including the anchors of the Bianca C that were cut loose when she was burning, other large vessel anchors, old plates, telephones and bottles.
Being in the harbour entrance, visibility varies widely. It can be murky over the drop off and reef ledges, or give an excellent view of the natural bathymetry entering the bay. The site is dived less often than the more consistent locations.
Invasive lionfish have settled here, which makes it a good drop point for divers culling them.
