Batee Meuduro is a deep walled pinnacle on the south side of Pulau Weh and one of its top dive sites. Because of the distance, it is usually dived as part of a two-tank day trip, and it is for experienced divers.
Visibility is usually very good. The often fierce currents attract pelagics, including tuna, mackerel, huge schools of barracuda, Napoleon wrasse, giant trevally and different species of rays and sharks. Thresher sharks are sometimes seen.
The dive often starts with a descent in the blue toward the Batee Meuduro rocks, past giant vase sponges. In the shelter of the big rock you ascend to the shallow plateau, which is covered with huge table corals that hide lobsters, stonefish and sleeping baby sharks. Less experienced divers can dive the shallow plateau side only.
