Sail Rock, also known as Batu Layar, is a coral reef garden with a maximum depth of 18 meters. The top of the reef patch lies at approximately 10 meters. Large boulder corals line the slope on the eastern side, while staghorn corals populate the western side.
The whole reef can be circled at an easy pace in about 50 minutes, and the top of the reef is worth exploring as well. Coral density and colourful reef fish are high, and divers sometimes meet a family of humphead parrotfish, a blacktip reef shark or an eagle ray.
