Cave Tunnel is a cavern and cave dive about half an hour from the harbour, one of the best dive spots in the Mediterranean according to the local divers. It suits both beginners and experienced divers.
The main feature is a huge cavern about 35 m long, as big as a cathedral. Three divers can swim side by side, and the depth is just 8 to 10 m. This cavern part is fine for everybody.
After 35 m the full-cave part begins. It is only for experienced divers used to an overhead environment. It leads into a cave with many corners and holes, with crabs, lobsters, Spanish lobsters and often a monk seal.
It is possible to exit through the cave to the other side of the mountain. The exit looks like a huge butterfly, which is why the site is also called the butterfly cave.
