Coconut Point is a reef dive site commonly nicknamed the "washing machine" for its very strong currents, which are normally always present. A stretch of sand between two rock cliffs forms a natural shelter where divers can duck out of the flow and watch larger pelagic species pass by. The site features a large slope with coral formations, and the powerful open-sea currents drive an impressive variety and volume of fish life.
The strong currents at Coconut Point regularly draw large schools of trevallies, jacks, anthias, and snappers. The slope provides cover for turtles and occasional bump head wrasse reaching around a metre in length. Reef sharks appear for lucky divers, and whale sharks have been spotted here as well.
Coconut Point is recommended for more experienced divers given the consistently strong currents. Depending on current direction, the site can be dived in two different directions. Visibility is great, and the site can be dived year-round.
