Gruta Do Ilhéu Negro is a cavern with easy access to the surface. The site combines wall diving with a sandy bottom, and the dive normally ends at Ilhéu Negro.
Depths run from 5 to 20 metres and the dive is rated beginner. Damselfish, small shoaling fish, stingrays, nudibranchs and morays are among the highlights. The easy access to the surface from inside the cavern is a feature of the site, and the dive then carries on to the islet.
