Dived here today? How were conditions vs. what we showed?
Ilhéu Negro is a volcanic islet that rises from a sandy bottom to the surface. Depths run from 5 to 20 metres and the dive is rated beginner.
Parrotfish, damselfish, octopus, moray eels, nudibranchs and tube worms live around the islet, and the surrounding bottom is sand. It is also a nursery area for common stingrays. The dive from the nearby grotto normally ends here.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
