Dived here today? How were conditions vs. what we showed?
Ras Ghamila is the most northerly of the local dive sites at Sharm el Sheikh, separating a shallow sandy lagoon from the open sea. It is dived as a drift, and all levels can do it.
A fairly shallow fringe reef at 10 to 15 metres sits above a large, extensive sandy plateau at 14 to 26 metres. The plateau is covered with coral heads, porites coral and pinnacles, and it holds more sea fans than any other dive site around Sharm.
Turtles, large pelagic fish and different sharks are what divers come to see.
The current can be strong.
