San Rafaelito is a rocky islet in La Paz Bay, just outside Balandra Bay, and it can be dived or snorkelled. The maximum depth is 16 metres, and the site can be dived year-round.
Healthy coral communities cover the rock and support a rich variety of marine life. A small colony of 40 to 50 California sea lions, none of them breeding here, hauls out on the rocks and swims through the surrounding water.
