About this site
Vis Island lies in the central Adriatic, off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, reached by ferry from Split. The island's coastline is dotted with small coves and rocky points, and its waters were long a closed military zone, which left much of the surrounding sea floor less disturbed than other parts of the Adriatic. Diving around Vis today is organized out of the harbour towns of Vis and Komiza.
