About this site
Amfore lies off Vis Island in Croatia's Split-Dalmatia region, in the Adriatic waters reached by ferry from Split. The site takes its name from amphora fragments found in the surrounding seabed, a reminder of the ancient shipping routes that passed through these waters. Vis sits well offshore from the mainland, and its coastline holds numerous dive sites among the rocky shore. Amfore itself is rated a beginner dive.
