About this site
Aquarium is a dive site off Mauritius, situated in the shallow lagoon waters typical of the island's fringing reef areas. It reaches a maximum depth of around 18 metres over a reef bottom and is considered a beginner-friendly dive. Divers have reported a wide variety of reef fish here, including angelfish, damselfish, parrotfish, pufferfish, snapper, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and wrasse, along with octopus and nudibranchs. Lionfish and scorpionfish have also been spotted on the reef, and divers should keep an eye out for them given their venomous spines.
