Avana Dropoff

This stunning wall dive plunges into the deep blue off Rarotonga's coast. The sheer coral-covered dropoff starts at 10 meters and descends beyond recreational limits. Schools of trevally and barracuda patrol the edge while eagle rays glide along the wall. Healthy hard corals host colorful reef fish like butterflyfish and angelfish. Strong currents sometimes sweep the area, bringing pelagic visitors. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters in these clear Pacific waters. The site offers thrilling drift dives along the dramatic underwater cliff face.
