Baía da Armação lies along the coastline near Sesimbra, a fishing town on the Setúbal district's Atlantic coast southwest of Lisbon. This stretch of coast sits near the Arrábida range, an area known for rocky shoreline and small coves rather than sandy beaches. The reef here tops out at around 14 metres, making it a beginner dive suited to divers still building experience along this part of the coast.
