About this site
Bajo Del Junior is a submerged rocky pinnacle at Malpelo Island, a remote outcrop far off the Pacific coast of Colombia that is only reachable by liveaboard after an open ocean crossing. Malpelo's dive sites are known for large pelagic encounters, particularly schooling hammerhead sharks, silky sharks, and other big fish drawn to the nutrient rich currents around the island. Conditions at these offshore seamounts and pinnacles typically involve strong current and depth, making them dives suited to experienced divers. Exact depths and layout at this particular pinnacle vary with the surrounding topography of the site.
