About this site

Bari Reef sits on the leeward coast of Bonaire, near Kralendijk, and is one of the island's well known shore diving sites, easily accessible from the road along the fringing reef. It is a gently sloping reef bottom typical of Bonaire's shore sites, reaching a max depth of around 27 metres, with a shallow reef flat leading down to a reef edge and slope before the bottom drops further out. The site is rated a beginner dive, in keeping with Bonaire's typically calm, low-current conditions and easy entry. Divers have reported angelfish and parrotfish here regularly, along with seahorses that make it popular for macro-style hunting close to shore, and eagle rays and nurse sharks have also been spotted on occasion. Bonaire's marine park protects this stretch of reef, and Bari Reef in particular has a reputation among local dive operators for consistent fish counts and macro life sightings.
