About this site
The Barque Stefano refers to the wreck of an Austro-Hungarian sailing ship that ran aground off the Ningaloo coast of Western Australia in 1875, near what is now the Muiron Islands and Exmouth Gulf area. The wreck site lies in this remote stretch of coastline, well offshore from the towns of Exmouth and Coral Bay, in the waters of the eastern Indian Ocean.
