About this site
Point Cloates sits on the coast of Western Australia, north of Coral Bay within the Ningaloo region, where the reef fringes the continental shelf close to shore. This stretch of the Ningaloo coast is known for its proximity to deep water just beyond the reef edge, a feature that draws divers and snorkellers to the wider area. The point marks one of the more remote sections of this coastline, well north of the main tourist hubs.
