Barracuda Point

Barracuda Point is located off Sipadan Island, administered as part of Malaysia's Sabah state near the maritime boundary with Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia, in the Celebes Sea. It is one of the best known dive sites around Sipadan, with a steep drop-off and a reputation for large schooling barracuda that form dense, swirling formations along the wall. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, and divers commonly also encounter grey reef sharks, jacks, and green and hawksbill turtles along the same drop-off. Currents along the wall can be brisk, which is part of why it draws divers looking for more than a casual reef dive, though the schooling barracuda remain the main draw of the site.
