Barracuda Point

Barracuda Point sits on the reef edge of Sipadan Island off the coast of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo, one of the island's well known dive sites reached by short boat trips from the jetty. It is famous for the large schools of chevron barracuda that form swirling cylinder-shaped formations just off the wall, along with frequent sightings of grey reef sharks and green and hawksbill turtles. The site is a steep wall and drop-off dive, with a maximum depth of around 15 metres, rated intermediate. Currents here can be strong and unpredictable, which is why some drift diving experience is useful. Sipadan's dive sites, including this one, are managed under a permit system that limits the number of divers allowed per day.
