About this site
Batu Angus lies along the coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia, near Bitung in the north of the island, an area used as a boat access point for the Lembeh Strait and nearby Bunaken waters. The name means "burnt rock" in Indonesian, reflecting the volcanic shoreline typical of this stretch of coast. The site is a wall dropping to around 200 metres and is rated technical, with currents here reported to be unpredictable. Divers have reported eagle rays, manta rays, and nudibranchs along the wall.
