Batu Sandar

Batu Sandar is a dive site along the Lembeh Strait, the channel of water separating the north Sulawesi mainland from Lembeh Island in Indonesia. Sites along this strait are typically reached by short boat rides from dive operators based around Bitung or the Lembeh area. Batu Sandar reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres, and like much of Lembeh it draws divers for muck and macro life rather than reef scenery. Divers have reported an array of nudibranchs here, including Anna's Chromodoris, Batangas Halgerda, Many-lobed Ceratosoma, Ornate Phyllidia, Slender ceratosoma, and Tryon's Hypselodoris, alongside coconut octopus, ornate ghostpipefish, and painted frogfish.
