About this site
Black Forest is a dive site off Balicasag Island, a small island near Panglao in the Bohol Sea, part of the Visayas region of the Philippines. The island is ringed by a marine sanctuary and drop-offs that are reached by short boat trips from Panglao or Alona Beach. The site sits over a reef bottom with light current, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres, and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported anthias, barracuda, frogfish, jacks and amberjacks, mantis shrimp, scorpionfish, sea turtles, trevally, and wrasse along the reef.
