About this site
Black Forrest lies off Sangeang Island, a volcanic island in the Sangeang Api group off the northeast coast of Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara. The island's volcanic slopes continue underwater along this coastline, and the site is typically reached by boat from Sumbawa or on liveaboard routes through the region. It reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers here have reported frogfish and mimic octopus among the muck-style terrain.
