Deep Purple

Deep Purple is a reef dive site off Sangeang Island, a volcanic island lying north of Sumbawa in the Sangeang Strait, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The area is shaped by volcanic activity, with black sand slopes and thermal vents feeding into the surrounding water around Sangeang. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres over a reef bottom, is rated an intermediate dive, and runs strong currents. Batfish and snapper are common here, and divers have also reported barracuda, humphead wrasse, nudibranchs, seahorses, and triggerfish on the reef.
