Blue Moon lies off Bali's northeast coast in the Amed area, a stretch of shoreline known for its black sand slopes and sheltered coastal waters, with the Agung volcano rising inland behind the coast. Dive sites along this part of Bali are typically reached by short boat trips from Amed's fishing villages, and Blue Moon itself is a wall dive reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated intermediate. Divers here have reported angelfish, barracuda, clownfish, manta rays, moray eels, humphead wrasse, nudibranchs, seahorses, snapper, stingrays, trevally, triggerfish, and tuna along the wall.
